Professional experience

Independent translator since 2006, I have worked in partnership with a number of translation agencies and companies in a variety of domains. Today, I concentrate my efforts on the area of environmental protection and renewable sources of energy. This has proved to be an enriching and valuable experience and allowed me to develop my business considerably. Allow me to present a few of the companies by whom I have been employed.

Sales Manager with MMCC Microchem in Saint-Rémy-de-Provence (France), I was responsible for supervising French sales representatives and foreign clients in the Managing Director’s office. Two commercial secretaries worked under my supervision. During the period when I managed the purchasing of transportation and raw materials, I received training in risks linked to chemical products and in legislation covering international road transportation of dangerous goods (ADR). I was required to manage pricing, deliveries, stocks and complaints. In addition to the purely commercial aspects of this post, I was able to learn about business management in France and to become familiar with the chemical sector and product development procedures that are more respectful of the environment.

As International Sales Officer at Pepperl+Fuchs in Mannheim (Germany), I was responsible for management of exports in Europe, North America, Latin America and Singapore, working with the International Sales Director and with the company's international subsidiaries. This experience in an international service allowed me to acquire a perfect understanding of export services: customs documents, Incoterms, after-sales services, management of stock, supplies and deliveries, tariff negotiations, client relations management, etc. Working in a company specializing in electro-technical products, I gained excellent experience in a highly technical business environment.

Working in the Accounting Office at the Headquarters of HypoVereinsbank A.G., Munich, Germany, I was involved in various accounting activities, including supervision of accounting documents, input of accounting operations using SAP, verification of double-entry bookkeeping, etc. This experience in a large banking group, together with my accountancy qualifications (Applied Foreign Languages) now allows me to bring together my theoretical and practical knowledge of company accounting systems.

Bilingual Secretary, at the Université franco-allemande, Saarbrucken, Germany, I was responsible for a number of tasks, including switchboard services in German and French and the development of databases and mail services. This experience allowed me to discover a bicultural professional environment.
